YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A century-old manufacturer on the city’s northeast side has been acquired by a Mississippi-based corporation that operates facilities in seven states.
LT Corp., based in Cleveland, Mississippi, announced Wednesday it has acquired Commercial Metal Forming, a company that was founded in 1920 as the Commercial Shearing Corp. Commercial Metal Forming is the largest manufacturer of tank heads in North America and serves multiple industries.

Commercial Metal Forming provides service to its large customer base through manufacturing facilities and distribution centers in Youngstown; Saginaw, Texas; and Orange, Calif.

Established in 1982, LT Corp. is the parent company to a group of operating companies recognized for quality manufacturing and services in the propane, pressure vessel, steel fabrication, metal spinning and storage tank construction, repair and maintenance industries.
Its subsidiaries include Quality Steel Corp., with facilities in Mississippi, Ohio and Utah; LP Cylinder Service Inc. in Pennsylvania; Buckeye Fabricating Co., based in Ohio; Kryton Engineered Metals Inc., Iowa; Tate Metalworks Inc. of South Carolina; and Tanco Engineering, based in Colorado.
