YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Joy Mistovich, assistant education director and digital UX accessibility specialist at The Butler Institute of American Art, has recently been appointed to the Ohio Museums Association Board of Trustees.
The board represents 1,300 museums statewide.
“I was so pleased to learn of Joy’s special recognition,” said Louis Zona, executive director of The Butler. “She is intelligent and highly competent. She is a dedicated and hardworking employee. I couldn’t be prouder of Joy for all of her accomplishments.”
Mistovich graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish and a master’s degree in English. Last August, she received her second master’s degree in art education/museum education from The Ohio State University.
She was also selected for the National Art Education Association School for Art Leaders’ program, which includes only 25 individuals nationwide. This will last from June 2025 to March 2026. This program provides visual arts leaders from museums, colleges/universities and state visual arts organizations with the opportunity to build upon their leadership skills, which will benefit visual arts professionals in all stages of their careers.
She also serves on other boards, including Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries, OCCHA and Art Possible Ohio.
