NEOMED Taking Applications for Health-a-Thon
ROOTSTOWN, Ohio – Applications are being accepted through April 2 for Northeast Ohio Medical University’s Medcamp Health-a-Thon.
As part of the health-a-thon — modeled after hack-a-thons in the technology industry — area undergraduate students will spend 24 hours at the medical university working to develop a solution to a problem presented to them by health experts. At the end of the competition, the solutions will be judged and prizes awarded.
The contest will begin at 11 a.m. June 29 at the NEOMED Education and Wellness Center, 4211 state Route 44 in Rootstown.
The health-a-thon is open to students who have graduated from high school but not completed their undergraduate degree.
Applicants must live in Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Crawford, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Holmes, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas or Wayne counties. First consideration will be given to applicants from groups that are underrepresented in the health-care industry.
