WARREN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to residents of the Mahoning Valley decreased slightly in March compared with the same period last year, while sales of used vehicles posted a healthy increase, according to the latest report from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

The dealers report shows that buyers from Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties purchased a total of 2,374 new vehicles last month, compared with 2,453 sold a year earlier – a drop of 3.2% 

Boardman Subaru was the top volume seller for new vehicles with 172 units, according to the dealers report. Ken Ganley Kia Boardman reported 131 transactions; Cochran Chevrolet, Boardman, reported 111 sales: Fairway Chevrolet GMC, East Liverpool, and Cochran Honda of Boardman both posted 109 new vehicle sales; while Klaben Ford Lincoln, Warren, reported it sold 105 new units for the month.

Sales of used vehicles to local buyers, however, took an upward turn in March compared with 2025. Last month, dealers reported they sold 2,289 used vehicles, compared with 2,105 sold in March 2025, an increase of 8.6%.
