YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new cars and trucks to buyers in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties during August dipped slightly compared with the same month last year, according to the most recent report from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

Data from the association show that showrooms sold a total of 2,361 new vehicles to local customers last month, compared with 2,419 sold in August 2024, a drop of 2.4%.

Boardman Subaru reported the most registrations with 143; Ken Ganley Kia Boardman reported 118 new vehicle sales; #1 Cochran Ford Mercedes Benz, Austintown, said it sold 110 new automobiles in August; Greenwood Chevrolet, Austintown, reported 107 sold; while #1 Cochran Chevrolet reported the fifth-highest registrations with 105.

Meanwhile, sales of used vehicles increased during the month, the report shows.

Used vehicle sales to local buyers inched up 1.87% during the month. In August, dealers sold 2,015 used vehicles, compared with 1,978 sold in August 2024.

Boardman Subaru sold the most new and used vehicles combined with 225; Ganley Kia of Boardman sold 211; Greenwood Chevrolet reported 194 combined sales; Fairway Chevrolet GMC, East Liverpool, reported 173; and Fairway Ford said it sold 158 combined new and used vehicles.
