HUBBARD, Ohio – With support from local businesses and alumni, two massive H structures and a hand-carved eagle now welcome students, families and visitors to the city.
Raymond Soloman, superintendent of the Hubbard Exempted Village School District, discusses the addition of new landmarks across the district’s campus, including two large H structures and a 10.5-foot wooden eagle.
Soloman says the project came together through partnerships with local businesses and community members who want to beautify the campus and strengthen Hubbard’s blue-and-white identity. One H stands outside the high school auditorium, while another is located at Hubbard Memorial Stadium. The wooden eagle serves as another recognizable symbol for people entering the community.
The additions received support from Hubbard alumni and local businesses, including Boardman Steel, P.I.&I. Motor Express, JV Ferrara, Pallante Concrete and members of the Hubbard High School Class of 2006.
Soloman says the structures also create new gathering places for the community. Families can use them for photographs during theater performances, art shows, reunions, football games, soccer matches, band events and other activities held throughout the district.
He says the project reflects the continued support that Hubbard businesses, alumni and residents provide to the school district and its students.
