COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Development has released guidelines for the latest round of funding through the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program, which helps communities tear down unsafe and vacant structures to prepare sites for future development.
More than $20 million in funding is available statewide. Applications will open at 10 a.m. Oct. 29 and close at 5 p.m. Nov. 19.
“This program is an important tool for communities working to remove blighted and unsafe buildings,” said state Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel, R-79th. “These investments make neighborhoods safer, strengthen property values and open the door for new housing and business opportunities.”
The program, part of Gov. Mike DeWine’s Ohio Builds Initiative, provides funding to counties to help eliminate vacant and deteriorated commercial and residential structures. Approximately $230,000 in grant funding will be reserved for each of Ohio’s 88 counties, with funds available until July 1, 2026.
