YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Sales of new vehicles jumped 27% among residents in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in January compared with the same period last year, data show.
The Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association reports that dealers sold 2,338 new cars and trucks to Mahoning Valley buyers in January, compared with 1,840 in January 2024.
Boardman Subaru recorded the most new vehicle registrations with 186, the report shows. #1 Cochran Chevrolet reported the second highest volume with 134; #1 Cochran Honda reported third-best sales with 113; #1 Cochran Buick GMC registered the fourth best new vehicle sales at 112; and Fairway Ford recorded 111 new vehicles sold during the month.
Sales of used cars and trucks declined slightly year-over-year, data show.
Dealers reported they sold 1,587 used cars and trucks in January, compared with 1,642 vehicles during the same month in 2024, a drop of 3.3%.
