NovaCare Draws Attention to Its New Offices

BOARDMAN, Ohio – NovaCare Rehabilitation cut the ribbon Wednesday to highlight its move two years ago to new offices at 277 Boardman-Canfield Road.

The former Keystone Physical Therapy became part of NovaCare last year, said office manager Aby Chismar. NovaCare is part of Select Medical’s outpatient division, a national provider of physical rehabilitation.

The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber hosted the ribbon cutting.

The practice works with athletes, pre- and post-surgical patients, individuals with balance issues, the elderly and patients suffering from multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The office can perform musculoskeletal tests on athletes to help determine risk of injury, Chismar said. “You can sometimes find things that are wrong that are not necessarily painful yet,” she remarked.

The 3,000-square-foot office offers bikes, treadmills and ellipticals, as well as weight machines.

“We also have mat tables and all type of equipment that you can use for different types of strengthening,” Chismar continued. “A lot of people don’t know how to do that on their own.”
