YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Oak Hill Collaborative will host its first Community Connect Weekend with an e-waste collection drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and a vendor fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Both events will be held at Oak Hill’s main location at 507 Oak Hill Ave.
During the e-waste collection drive, the public can drop off technology that is unwanted, broken or needs recycling. Oak Hill is partnering with local recycler GreenBoard IT to ensure all collected materials are properly disposed of.
Many items are free to drop off, including laptops, PCs, DVD players, MP3 players, gaming consoles, routers, hard drives, keyboards, wires, scanners, LCD monitors, servers, cameras and other technology.
Three items have disposal fees – cash only – that will go toward disposal of the devices. Printers are $10, and CRT monitors and televisions are $20 each.
Items that can’t be dropped off include home medical equipment and kitchen appliances.
During the free vendor fair, residents will be able to visit tables for small businesses, area nonprofits and more. The event, hosted by Trina Williams, founder and owner of A Fresh Wind Catering, will feature food trucks, live music from local musician TaeShawn Madison and kid’s crafts such as tie-dye and painting.
Applications are still being accepted for vendors. Apply HERE.
