AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation District 4 is hosting a virtual open house for a proposed project to improve safety at the intersection of state Route 46 and New Road.

The virtual open house will be held HERE through April 7.

ODOT is proposing to construct a roundabout to improve safety by reducing the number and severity of crashes occurring at the intersection. The proposed project would also construct a loon – an expanded paved apron – to allow northbound traffic to make a U-turn at the intersection of state Route 46, Willow Crest Drive and Notre Dame Avenue.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027.

The purpose of the virtual open house is to present information on the proposed improvements and gather input from the public before making decisions. The public is encouraged to visit the project website to review project information and submit questions or comments. A pre-recorded presentation is also available for viewing on the website.

Comments about the project can be submitted on the project website or by contacting Sean Carpenter, environmental specialist, at 330 786 2274 or Sean.Carpenter@dot.ohio.gov. Reference the project ID: 120083.

Comments received by April 7 will be considered during this stage of the project, but comments will continue to be accepted throughout the project’s development. A summary of comments and responses will be posted on the project website.
