COLUMBUS, Ohio – Crisp air, crunchy leaves, and the smell of fresh apple cider can only mean one thing: fall in Ohio.
TourismOhio, the state’s official visitors bureau, is celebrating the season with the release of the 2025 Ohio Fall Events Guide. The booklet is a roundup of 440 events to fill autumn weekends with adventure, flavor and pumpkin spice.
Now live at Ohio.org, the guide spotlights five standout events from each of Ohio’s 88 counties – everything from big-time festivals to small-town favorites. Organized by month and region, it’s designed to help travelers map out cozy date nights, family road trips, and spontaneous getaways.
“Fall is when Ohio truly shines.,” said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development, which oversees TourismOhio. “Our communities turn into living postcards, filled with unique festivals, incredible food, and the kind of traditions that bring people back year after year.”
This year’s cover captures that spirit perfectly, featuring a mother and daughter picking apples at Bauman Orchards’ Fall Festival in Wayne County, a northeastern Ohio favorite with you-pick apples, a hay maze, petting zoo, live music, and plenty of fall flavors. The festival runs Sept. 20 and 27 and Oct. 4.
The guide also showcases traditions like the Circleville Pumpkin Show and the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival, while also highlighting new-to-the-guide gems like the Spring Valley Potato Festival and the Put-in-Bay Monarch Fest.
“Autumn in Ohio is an experience like no other,” said Sarah Wickham, state tourism director. “In just a few weekends, you can wander through pumpkin-lined streets in small towns, taste award-winning wines along the Lake Erie shore, and experience the one-of-a-kind Woollybear Festival in Vermilion!”
Event organizers who want to submit their festivals and events to the statewide database can do so here.
TourismOhio will roll out more fall trip ideas and insider tips in the coming weeks.
