NILES, Ohio – One Hot Cookie will open a branch in Eastwood Mall in April.
The company, which makes fresh and warm cookies, is owned by Heather Huff.
Huff, a Mahoning Valley resident and Army veteran, managed a One Hot Cookie store for two years before buying the company in December.
Setting up a new location at the mall is her first major move. Huff said the decision was rooted in community and the changing retail landscape.
“With all the updates, new stores and additions [to Eastwood Mall], I wanted to bring cookies and other desserts,” she said in a news release. “The amount of people that are going back into the mall made this a smart move for me.”
The mall location will offer the treats that One Hot Cookie customers have loved at the other sites.
The cookie lineup will include some gluten-free and vegan options. The store will also offer gourmet popcorn and coffee.
The mall location will offer DoorDash delivery in Niles and the surrounding area, according to the release.
“As a veteran and dedicated member of the community, Huff brings a level of commitment and excellence that aligns perfectly with our vision for the mall,” said Johnny Chechitelli, regional director of marketing and communications for the Eastwood Mall Complex. “We’re thrilled to see her take this brand into its next chapter here at Eastwood.” The new store will be located between Ashcroft & Oak and Claire’s. It will be open seven days a week during regular mall hours.
One Hot Cookie was founded in 2013 in Youngstown by Bergen Giordani and Morgen Chretien.
It has a store on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman.
