YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Alta Care Group has received a $10,000 donation from local nonprofit One Time For The Kids.
The 501(c)3 organization founded by Nick DiNello, Tim Strasik and Dom Pasquale hosts events to raise and distribute funds to local charities in the community that focus on specific educational needs for underprivileged children. The funds donated to Alta Care Group were raised at the organization’s annual Christmas benefit.
According to a news release, Alta will use the funds to sponsor a child to attend its Seeds Program, an innovative garden therapy program for teens where participants practice mindfulness and stress reduction through therapeutic gardening, while also gaining confidence, learning life skills and building social and emotional skills. Participants work together in the greenhouse and garden at Alta’s Campus of Care in Mineral Ridge. They cultivate plants and learn how to cook healthy meals with the ingredients grown in the garden.
“We are honored to accept this donation from One Time For The Kids and even more thrilled that we could use part of these funds to help sponsor a participant in this program who otherwise would not be able to attend due to commercial insurance funding limitations,” said Vince Paolucci, Alta Care Group chief executive officer.
One Time For The Kids will host its fourth annual golf outing Saturday at Knoll Run Golf Course in Lowellville. Registration will start at 2 p.m., and golfers will tee off at 3 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Alta Care Group. To register for the golf outing, visit OneTimeForTheKids.com.
