YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Rotary Club of Youngstown will kick off its annual Operation Warm campaign with an End of Summer Downtown Bash from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Apollo Event Center, 117 S. Champion St.
The event is open to the public and will feature live music from Hoss & The Juggernauts, food trucks and a cash bar. A $20 donation is requested, with every $20 providing one new winter coat for a child in Youngstown City Schools.
The kickoff event will launch the club’s effort to raise $32,000 for this year’s Operation Warm campaign, with a goal of providing coats to students throughout the school district.
“Join us, have a great night downtown and make a very tangible difference for a child in our community,” said Ellie Platt, president of the Rotary Club of Youngstown. “For every $20 we raise, we can put a brand-new winter coat on a Youngstown student. We hope the community comes out Thursday, enjoys the evening and helps us kick off our biggest Operation Warm campaign yet.”
The event will also celebrate local educators, with giveaways and complimentary drink tickets available for teachers.

Operation Warm is a national nonprofit organization that provides new coats and shoes to children in need.
