YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nicole Reyes, a surgeon at the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, discusses her role in patient care and the impact of community support of the Panerathon.
Reyes is often the first provider to meet with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, guiding them through biopsy results, treatment options and surgical decisions.
She notes that Panerathon funds have supported the purchase of updated mammogram and intraoperative imaging machines, expanded screening capacity and helped establish two new screening sites, including the mobile mammography unit.
These advancements, she says, improve early detection and patient outcomes.
