YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The PBR’s Velocity Tour will return to Covelli Centre on Friday and Saturday, bringing with it one of the sport’s most powerful athletes: Boot Barn’s Tyrone, a bucking bull weighing nearly 1,900 pounds.
Ryan McCarthy, director of live event marketing for PBR, said the event highlights the unique dynamic of the sport, which features “two athletes in the arena: the rider and the bull” – competing in an intense eight-second matchup of strength, balance and instinct.
To demonstrate Tyrone’s size, PBR officials partnered with players from the Youngstown State University football team to see how many Division I offensive linemen it would take to match the bull’s weight, underscoring just how massive the animal is.
The shows will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday, with tickets available through the Covelli Centre box office and Ticketmaster.
