CANFIELD, Ohio – Pecchia Communications plans to mark its 20th anniversary this year by awarding a $20,000 grant to a local nonprofit organization.
“We have a specific service in mind and plan to make this donation in November to express the tremendous support we’ve received over our 20 years,” says Dan Pecchia, president and founder.
Pecchia was out of work when he established Pecchia Communications on Nov. 1, 2005, as a “side project” while he pursued another full-time job.
But that traditional role never materialized and Pecchia Communications “took off” in early 2006, he says.
“We caught on quickly with a few dedicated local clients – the Harrington Hoppe & Mitchell law firm and Aim Transportation Solutions, both of which remain clients to this day, an architectural firm and a hardware store,” Pecchia recalls.
“Then the Timken Company in Canton hired us for a major internal communications project that really blessed us and set us up for many years of success.”
The Timken engagement lasted almost two years, took up most of Pecchia’s time and required him to hire others.
Timken colleagues wound up connecting Pecchia with Whirlpool Corp. in Benton Harbor, Mich., for another large and long-lasting corporate project.
Since then, the Canfield firm has landed similar engagements with General Electric, Wrangler, Wendy’s, American Greetings, American Electric Power and several other large organizations.
Similar projects with Nutrien Ag Solutions and Clorox Co. highlighted Pecchia’s work in 2024, says the agency president.
Now the agency has six team members. Nick Perry, art director, joined last year and Brielle Robinson, project coordinator, joined in January.
In addition to HHM and Aim, Pecchia’s local and regional clients include the Youngstown Foundation, Ohio Living, Sunbelt Solomon, A. Stucki Co. and the Mahoning County Land Bank.
