WARREN, Ohio – Castle Canning in Sharon, Pa., received Penn-Northwest Development Corp.’s Local Industry Impact Award at the group’s 40th annual meeting Wednesday at Thiel College. Penn-Northwest reported creating or retaining 1,000 jobs in Mercer County over the past year, with manufacturing remaining the county’s leading industry.

Plus, Guy Coviello, Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber president and CEO, said he remains optimistic about the Mahoning Valley economy despite recent setbacks, citing potential data center projects and growth at Ultium Cells. The remarks came during the Regional Chamber’s Economic Forecast breakfast.
