Penn State Shenango Alumni Host Golf Fundraiser

SHARON, Pa. – The Penn State Shenango Alumni Society will host the 17th Annual Golf Scramble fundraiser June 16 at Pine Lakes Golf Club in Hubbard, Ohio.

Proceeds from the golf outing, which are being matched by Penn State University, will support scholarships to Penn State Shenango as well as projects at the campus in downtown Sharon.

“As our Society works to establish another scholarship endowment for Shenango students, and because of the historic 2:1 match that Penn State is currently offering, we hope that this year’s outing is our most successful yet,” said alumni society President Carl Sizer in a release. “We are well on our way to reaching our fundraising goal and would love the community’s continued support.”

Tickets are $85 and include the golf scramble, beverages and continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the scramble an hour later. The outing will also include a hole-in-one contest, door prize drawings, awards for the top three finishers, skill contests and a prize for the top women’s team.

The alumni society is also looking for event sponsors, which range from $100 to $1,250, as well as donations for the basket raffle.

The event is limited to 36 paid teams and the registration deadline is June 8. For more information, contact Erika Jones at 724 983 2905 or ejj129@psu.edu.
