YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Bruce Zoldan, CEO and founder of Phantom Fireworks, says he expects a strong Independence Day season, citing the 250th anniversary of the United States and the fact that July 4 falls on a Saturday as key drivers. He says the company views the year as potentially its largest celebration period to date, with consumers likely to split their observances between public displays and at-home gatherings.
Zoldan says planning for the season begins well in advance, with inventory ordered and shipped from China — which he said accounts for the vast majority of global consumer fireworks production — up to 18 months ahead of peak demand. He noted the company works with multiple factories abroad and maintains offices and staff in China to manage sourcing.
Phantom Fireworks distributes through roughly 100 year-round retail locations and up to 2,000 seasonal stands, along with partnerships with national retailers. Zoldan says the company now considers itself the largest consumer fireworks retailer in the United States.
