AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The annual Pink Out concert will take place Sunday, Oct. 4, at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road, from noon to 7 p.m.
This year’s celebration will honor the vision of co-founder Sheila Kroll-Dickinson, who recently lost her battle with cancer.
Co-founder Jenah Shank, who launched Pink Out with Kroll-Dickinson in 2023, reflected on the emotional weight of this year’s gathering.
“It’s hard to imagine how this year’s event will look without Sheila,” she said. “It was a longtime goal and vision of hers to see this dream become a reality. She wanted to give cancer patients and survivors, along with their families, friends and supporters, a place to come to celebrate life and remember those lost, but mostly to gather together and celebrate.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs/blankets, coolers with snacks and refreshments, and to wear pink. Admission is free.
The festival is a community gathering for cancer survivors, those currently in treatment, families remembering loved ones and supporters, Shank said. It is not a fundraiser.
The event will include a range of musical artists, concessions and craft vendors. There will also be a basket raffle, 50/50 raffle and guitar giveaway.
