YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Playhouse will enter its second century with a season that includes the classic “Singin’ in the Rain,” the satirical “Urinetown” and a couple of productions at its new downtown theater.
The Playhouse, which is currently wrapping up its centennial season, announced its 2025-26 season this week.
It will open its downtown theater, on the third floor of the Morley Building, 220 W. Boardman St., in spring 2026.

Here is the 2025-26 schedule:
- “People Places & Things,” Aug. 15-24, Moyer Room, directed by Chris Fidram.
- “Singin’ in the Rain,” Sept. 12-21, main stage, the classic musical, directed by Tyler Stouffer.
- “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Oct. 10-12, main stage, a youth theater production of an adaptation of the Shakespeare comedy.
- “Honk! Jr.,” Feb. 20-22, main stage, a youth theater production directed by Wayne Bonner III.
- “The Lyons,” March 20-29, downtown theater, a sharp-tongued comedy that premiered on Broadway in 2012, directed by Connor Bezeredi. This show will be the first in the new downtown theater.
- “Urinetown,” May 29-June 7, main stage, a satirical musical directed by Nate Beagle.
- “The Shark Is Broken,” June 19-28, downtown theater, a comedy that premiered on Broadway in 2023, directed by Brendan Boyle.
