YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – PNC donated $100,000 to the Kilcawley: Centered on the Future Campaign at Youngstown State University.

In recognition of the gift, the south campus core entrance will be named the PNC Entrance. This entrance serves as access for the Gelbman Room, formerly known as the Chestnut Room.

“PNC has sustained a variety of YSU’s efforts, and their impact continues through their support of the Kilcawley: Centered on the Future campaign,” YSU President Bill Johnson said. “The naming of the PNC Entrance showcases their dedication to the YSU community.”

Ted Schmidt, PNC regional president for Youngstown, called YSU a vital cornerstone of the community.

“We are happy to continue PNC’s support of an institution of higher learning that plays such a significant role in the lives of Mahoning Valley residents,” he said.

Scott Schulick, chairman of the Kilcawley: Centered on the Future campaign, said the PNC Entrance will be one of four entrances for students to access the building.

“PNC’s commitment is similar to Kilcawley’s impact, as both serve not just the YSU community, but the entire Mahoning Valley,” he said.
