Premier Bank Gives $25,000 to Alta Care’s Camp Challenge Expansion
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Premier Bank has awarded $25,000 to Alta Care Group to support the expansion of the behavioral health center’s Camp Challenge.
Part of the Alta Head Start program, Camp Challenge offers programs focused on education, health, nutrition, mental health and family development.
“The Camp Challenge building expansion project will strengthen the Alta Care Group’s continuum of care by expanding the mental health day treatment and counseling services, peer support, mentoring and respite care at Camp Challenge. The expansion will also provide new attributes to Camp Challenge such as therapeutic social recreation and adventure therapy,” said Alta Care CEO Joe Shorokey in a statement. “Additional services will also be provided such as career exploration for youth, activities to support education and employment for youth in recovery, physical activities and partner outreach and education.”
Added Tirsh Gelsomino, Premier Bank’s foundation giving coordinator: “We are proud to support the Alta Care Group as they work to support the social, emotional, behavioral, educational and physical well-being of children, adolescents, young adults and their families in the Mahoning Valley.”
