LISBON, Ohio – The Columbiana County Port Authority had a productive 2024, securing grant funding and working with several partners for projects throughout the county, while addressing the needs of local business and manufacturing enterprises.
The Maritime Assistance Program awarded the CCPA $376,031 in 2024, of which $303,404 will be used by Quality Liquid Feeds at the Intermodal Facility in Wellsville for construction of a new molasses storage tank. Pier 48, also in the Intermodal Facility, will use $72,627 of the funding for construction of new ramps to the Ohio River.
Funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission and the state capital budget was used to complete the final phase of work at the Industrial Building in Leetonia.
The CCPA also was awarded a flexible spending grant from the Ohio Department of Development. With approval from the Columbiana County Board of Commissioners, Salem was awarded $250,000 for a renovation project on South Broadway, with the CCPA responsible for administration of the project.
