CANFIELD, Ohio – Public hours are returning to the Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo this year, giving anyone curious about a hands-on career the chance to pick up a tool, meet the pros and explore what’s possible.
The seventh annual expo will take place at the Michael Kusalaba Event Center, Building 36, at the Canfield Fairgrounds, and public hours are from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 22. No registration is required, and admission and parking are free. Enter through Gate 9 off state Route 46.
During the event, which draws thousands of students from the Valley and western Pennsylvania, more than a dozen building construction trades will be on display through hands-on exhibits and live demonstrations. Attendees can talk directly with professionals and learn how to start earning while they learn a trade. No experience is necessary.
The expo also welcomes those already working in the trades who are exploring the path to becoming union tradespeople.
