Wean Foundation Launches ‘Speaking Out’ Series

WARREN, Ohio – The Raymond John Wean Foundation is launching a new series, Speaking Out: The Power of Finding and Exercising Your Public Voice, designed to help nonprofits play a role in public policy discussions.

The two half-day workshops, Jan. 25 and Feb. 22, are designed with strategies for managing public relations challenges and seizing opportunities to enter public discussions.

The first Speaking Out workshop, 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. Jan. 25 at the foundation’s office here, will have participants examine the various roles, responsibilities and restraints facing nonprofits and their associates for entering public discussions through case studies, interviews and personal engagement.

The second workshop, 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. Feb. 22, also at the foundation, will have communications, media and nonprofit professionals share examples of their public relations experiences, both good and bad and guide participants through the creation of an effective crisis communications plan.

Cost to attend the Speaking Out series is $25 and is limited to 30 participants. Register here by Jan. 18.
