WARREN, Ohio – A medical record keeping company is seeking more than $21,000 from Insight Health System’s two Trumbull County hospitals.

In a motion filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Houston, VRC Companies LLC, doing business as Vital Records Control, asked Judge Christopher Lopez to enforce terms of the sale of the former Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Howland and compel the hospitals to fulfill the contract with VRC.

Insight acquired the hospitals from Steward Health Care System, which filed for bankruptcy in May 2024.

The records company claims it is owed $18,845 from Insight Hospital & Medical Center Trumbull and $2,239 from Insight Rehabilitation Hospital Hillside for the ongoing storage, transfer or destruction of medical records. Court documents claim VRC has 3,447 boxes from the Trumbull hospital and 346 boxes from the Hillside hospital that contain both personal medical records and employee records.

Insight closed both locations in late March, claiming it was temporary and due to ongoing contract disputes with Steward.

Previously, medical equipment companies Post Road Equipment Finance SPV LLC and Phillips Medical Capital LLC filed motions for the return of equipment at the hospitals. Phillips withdrew its request Wednesday, and Post Road’s hearing scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.
