YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Environmental remediation at the former Royal China site has been completed, pending final approval from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The Mahoning County Land Bank is seeking a “no further action” letter, which would clear the way for redevelopment.

Plus, the Ohio Environmental Review Appeals Commission has dismissed an appeal by Warren Township trustees seeking to block demolition of the Leavittsburg Dam.

And the Ohio House on Wednesday passed a resolution introduced by state Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel urging Congress to form a special committee to investigate the February 2023 train derailment in East Palestine and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s response.
