Ryan Senate Campaign Raises $2.5M in Third Quarter
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Senate campaign for U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13 Ohio, raised $2.5 million in the third quarter, ending with more than $3.6 million in cash on hand.
The third-quarter haul is the most ever for an Ohio Senate challenger in the same period of an off year, according to a press release. Of the contributions to the campaign, 96.6% were $100 or less. Contributions have come from residents in all 88 counties, including 22,522 new donors in the third quarter.
“Tim’s historic grassroots fundraising is the latest sign of the momentum he’s building to flip Ohio’s open U.S. Senate seat,” said Tim for Ohio spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Hardworking Ohioans from all 88 counties are proud to be supporting Tim because they know he’s always fought to cut them in on the deal, and they know he’ll take their fight all the way to the floor of the U.S. Senate.”
In addition to record-breaking fundraising, Ryan has earned endorsements from fellow Ohio U.S. Reps. Joyce Beatty, D-3, and Marcy Kaptur, D-9, as well as more than 200 elected leaders and Democrat activists from across the state. He’s also received support from labor organizations, including the Ohio AFL-CIO, AFSCME Ohio Council 8 and OAPSE AFSCME Local 4, SEIU District 1199, and the Ohio State Conference of IBEW.
