Salem Regional Medical Center continues to invest in the health of the community through its commitment to growth, accelerating innovation and delivering high-quality health care, Dr. Anita Hackstedde, president/CEO, says.
“SRMC expanded access to occupational health and urgent care for residents of the greater North Jackson area, launching a new facility that provides more convenient care directly to the community,” Hackstedde continues. Offerings include occupational health and urgent care services.
SRMC also welcomed several new primary and specialty care physicians, including Dr. Katarina Barlow, family medicine; Dr. James E. Friedl III, family medicine; and Dr. Ryan Sankovic, pain management/physical medicine and rehabilitation.
The Wound Healing Center at SRMC became the first and only facility in the region to offer the Reapplix 3C Patch, an advanced and personalized treatment for chronic diabetic wounds made using the patient’s own blood, Hackstedde explains.
In addition, orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Dominic Peters began using the VELYS robotic-assisted solution for knee replacement surgery at SRMC, and physiatrist and interventional pain medicine physician Dr. Ryan Sankovic introduced a new spinal cord stimulation therapy by Boston Scientific to offer significant pain relief and improved quality of life for those suffering from chronic pain conditions such as back pain, leg pain and diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
Medical and professional acknowledgements included Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating compliance with its national standards for health care quality and safety and reaccreditation of SRMC’s Laboratory by the College of American Pathologists for achieving the highest standards in laboratory quality and safety.
“We continue to advance our mission and meet the needs of residents across our service area with the SRMC Surgery and Outpatient Pavilion at Firestone Farms in Columbiana,” Hackstedde says. Services include medical imaging, infusion, surgery and primary and specialty care physician practices.
