SALEM, Ohio – Salem Regional Medical Center has been recognized as one the 386 Cleanest Hospitals in the United States by Becker’s Hospital Review magazine.
The national recognition highlights SRMC’s commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for patients and visitors, a news release states.
Becker’s Hospital Review’s list was developed using data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey. SRMC earned five-star ratings for cleanliness based on patient feedback collected through surveys completed from Oct. 1, 2023, to Sept. 30, 2024.
“We are honored to be recognized among the nation’s cleanest hospitals,” said Dr. Anita A. Hackstedde, SRMC president and CEO. “There are over 4,000 hospitals in the United States that participate in the HCAHPS survey, and SRMC was one of only 18 Ohio facilities to make the list of cleanest hospitals.”
The recognition “reflects the outstanding work of our housekeeping team and all staff members, who are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for our patients and their families,” Hackstedde said.
“Our team works very hard, and they are incredibly dedicated to the patients we serve,” said Therese Smith, director of housekeeping services for Xanitos, which provides housekeeping and other services to hospitals. “In addition to prioritizing cleanliness, achieving this five-star CMS rating means our staff is deeply committed to providing exceptional patient care.”
