SALEM, Ohio – Salem Regional Medical Center recently welcomed Dr. Ryan Sankovic, a fellowship-trained physiatrist and interventional pain medicine physician, to its medical staff.
Double board-certified in physical medicine/rehabilitation and pain medicine, Sankovic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain related to a variety of conditions such as arthritis; back, neck and hip pain; fibromyalgia; cancer; and nervous system disorders.
A graduate of Canfield High School, Sankovic received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of South Carolina. He went on to earn his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University, followed by a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Beaumont (Corewell) Health in Michigan.
He furthered his medical education with a one-year interventional pain medicine fellowship at Detroit Medical Center, where he received extensive training in advanced pain management techniques.
For Sankovic, pursuing a career in medicine is a family affair. His father, Dr. Danny Sankovic, is a well-known general aurgeon affiliated with Salem Regional Medical Center.
