SHARON, Pa. – Sharon Community Development Corp., with help from the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, is seeking input from residents, business owners and visitors to guide efforts to revitalize downtown during the next five years.
The online survey will take five to 10 minutes to complete, the city said in a news release. The release pointed out that the city has changed much during the past five years, with new venues to visit and places to enjoy, and the city aims to identify what works, what is missing and what would improve downtown.
The survey, which is active through Aug. 31, is part of the city’s effort to apply for an official Main Street designation, which would make the city eligible for additional funding from the commonwealth.
“The purpose of this survey tool is to get a better idea of how people feel about common attributes that contribute to a ‘sense of place’ within the business and residential district and to guide the organization in their revitalization strategies,” according to the online survey.
It also is intended to build upon the city’s proposed Comprehensive Plan, a 10-year outlook that remains available for public comment until Friday.
