SHARON, Pa. – Nearly a year after reopening under the Tenor Health Foundation, Sharon Regional Health System is expanding services to meet community needs, with a major focus on cardiovascular care.

Dr. Richard Begg, medical director of the cardiovascular service line, highlights the critical role of cardiovascular care, noting it is the nation’s leading cause of death and a major reason patients require urgent hospital care. From noninvasive testing such as stress tests and echocardiograms to a 24/7 cath lab for emergencies, the hospital is fully operational and committed to providing high-quality, locally accessible care.

Begg emphasizes the importance of receiving treatment close to home, both for convenience and for patient well-being and family support. He also praises the community’s support in reopening the hospital and underscores a shared dedication– alongside partner Butler Memorial Hospital – to strengthening cardiovascular services in western Pennsylvania.
