SHARON, Pa. – Sharon Tube LLC has joined Mercer County Food Bank’s Carrot Club at the Harvest level, providing 80,000 meals to those in need throughout Mercer County for the second year in a row.
Carrot Club is the food bank’s annual major gift program. Local companies, organizations and individuals can join at various levels – Seedling, Sprout, Root and Harvest to advance the mission of the food bank.
“We are humbled by the continued generosity of Sharon Tube,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of Mercer County Food Bank. “Not only have they provided 160,000 meals since joining Carrot Club in 2023, but they also volunteer their time to pack boxes and assist at food distributions throughout Mercer County year-round.”
Each month, the food bank provides food to more than 13,313 people throughout the county.
“More than 15,000 people, including 4,300 children living in Mercer County, are considered food insecure, which by definition means they don’t always have access to adequate or nutritious food,” Page said. “Carrot Club supporters are helping to ensure that we have the resources available to continue to bridge the meal gap that exists in Mercer County.”
