ALTOONA, Pa. – Fortune and Great Place to Work have named Sheetz to this year’s Best Workplaces in Retail list.
Sheetz was ranked second nationally for the second straight year. The restaurant and convenience chain has ranked in the top 10 each year it has appeared.
“Being ranked second on this list, alongside widely respected companies that prioritize positive work environments, is an important honor for us,” said Travis Sheetz, president and CEO of Sheetz. “Our people are our brand. They are the face of Sheetz in every community we serve, and it’s our responsibility to provide them with fulfilling careers built on respect and a shared purpose of caring for others.”
In the past year, Great Place to Work surveyed companies representing a combined workforce of 8.4 million people in the U.S. and received 1.3 million survey responses, according to a news release. List rankings are determined by employee feedback, which Great Place to Work analyzes to evaluate how widely these experiences are shared throughout an organization.
Sheetz’s inclusion in this year’s Best Workplaces in Retail list is the latest in a series of notable recognitions for the company, including:
- In August, Sheetz was named to this year’s Companies that Care list by Great Place to Work and People Magazine. Sheetz ranked 10th on this year’s list, maintaining its top 10 status after ranking ninth last year.
- In July, Sheetz ranked second in the convenience store category on Newsweek’s America’s Best Retailers list.
- In May, Sheetz was named to this year’s list of America’s Most Innovative Companies by Fortune and Statista.
