ALTOONA, Pa. – Sheetz restaurant and convenience chain opened its 800th store this month in Raleigh, N.C. To mark the milestone, Sheetz will host a grand opening celebration that will include customer giveaways and major donations. 

The chain is offering two free hot dogs with any purchase from Thursday, Aug. 28 – the day the 800th location opens – to Sept. 2.

The Labor Day weekend offer is available at all 800 Sheetz locations through the OFFERZ tab in the Sheetz app (extras and add-ons not included).

As we look toward 1,000 stores, we are excited to offer more customers our all-in-one convenience experience, create more quality jobs and continue being a positive force in the neighborhoods we serve.”

There are 17 Sheetz locations in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys; and Mercer and New Castle, Pa.

Sheetz has experienced significant growth since it opened its 700th store in Columbus, Ohio, on Sept. 12, 2023. Recent expansion highlights include: 

  • In 2023, Sheetz expanded into Dayton and now has nine stores in the market, with plans to open 10 more in the next few years. 
  • In August 2024, Sheetz entered the state of Michigan by opening its first Detroit-area store. Sheetz plans to open 50-60 locations in southeast Michigan over the next five to six years.
  • Last year, Sheetz opened its first two locations in the greater Cincinnati area in Franklin, Ohio, and Springboro, Ohio.
  • Last year, Sheetz also opened its first two stores in Toledo. 
  • Last year, Sheetz broke ground on the construction of its new $169 million state-of-the-art food preparation and distribution center in Findlay, Ohio, to support the company’s growth across this area. 

Sheetz employs over 26,000 employees across seven states. Each Sheetz location employs approximately 30 individuals. In April, Sheetz was named to Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the 10th straight year.
