Shenango Chamber to Host Fireworks at Buhl Park

SHARON, Pa. — The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce will present the inaugural fireworks celebration, Light up the Sky @Buhl Park, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Buhl Park.

The fireworks celebration will include a concert by 2nd Avenue Project starting at 6 p.m., part of Buhl Park’s Summer Concert Series at the park, face painting by regional artist Laura Stuart and balloon art by Dragonfly Balloons, all near the Performing Arts Outdoor Stage.

Pyrotecnico of New Castle will providing the fireworks.

“We’re excited because this event affords all the municipalities in our community the opportunity to have a Fourth of July celebration for their residents within the valley – so that they don’t have to leave our area to enjoy fireworks,” said Sherris Moreira, executive director of the Shenango Valley Chamber. “We also think it sets the stage for the chamber to focus on promoting the valley and all of its amenities in a very collaborative way with all of our partner municipalities.”

Refreshments will be available for purchase by Buhl Park Concessions and Powell Concessions. Fireworks will be set off at dusk over Kite Hill and will be best viewed from that field.

“The event will be a great way for the community to spend an evening in the park. We are excited to be collaborating to provide a wonderful event for the community,” said Tom Roskos, executive director of Buhl Park Corp.

Sherris also noted creating the event was the final initiative of the chamber’s outgoing associate director, Deanne Koch.

“It is representative of all the community involvement she has done with the chamber, its members and the Shenango Valley during her tenure,” she said. “This is just the beginning of the new direction the chamber is going in regards to promoting our valley as an exciting place to live and do business with all of our community amenities.”
