Shenango Chamber’s Annual Dinner Goes Virtual, Supports Community

SHARON, Pa. – The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce will host it annual dinner virtually this year, presenting the ceremony from a live event featuring Dueling Piano Bar, on Nov. 5.

The event also includes a give-back component, with each ticket including a $25 gift card to the buyer’s choice from more than 20 local restaurants. A portion of proceeds from dinner tickets will also go to the Shenango Valley Chamber Charitable Fund, which has donated protective equipment packs to businesses, overseen the expansion of the Leadership Shenango program and put nearly $20,000 back into the area’s restaurant community.

“It was important to us to address the still current needs of our business community as part of our annual event,” said Shane Nugent, board chairman of the Shenango Valley Chamber. and co-owner of NuChoice Home Health Care, in a statement. “We also look for this event to help bring our community together in a year that has been a really challenging one.” 

The virtual event will be hosted by WFMJ news anchor Caroline Collins. She will lead the program honoring the chamber’s award winners and sharing her personal story of COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment.

“While 2020 has been a trying year for many of us, its events like this, thanks to our wonderful Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce, that will keep us connected and our community thriving,” she said. “While I’m still recovering from some complications, I can’t say enough about the treatment I received locally.” 

Among this year’s award winners are former Buhl Regional Health Foundation leader Mickey Gula as Shenango Valley Business Ambassador and Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County as the Shenango Valley Champion Organization.

Besides recognizing the honorees during the virtual event, guests will also enjoy a special salute to the Shenango Valley, a Top 10 list, a special community toast and the recognition ceremony followed by the entertaining Bobby McKeys Dueling Piano Bar out of Maryland, where guests can request songs in real time and prizes will be drawn throughout the show. A special party box filled with interactive swag is also included in the ticket price.
