POLAND, Ohio – Kelly Stansloski, executive director of Shepherd of the Valley’s Poland campus, highlighted the opening of a new memory care floor designed to meet growing demand for specialized senior services in Mahoning County. Stansloski said the expansion reflects the organization’s commitment to providing a full continuum of care, ensuring residents can receive the support they need at every stage, including those living with memory-related conditions.
The new space features secure and safe environments, along with sensory-focused elements aimed at improving quality of life, including themed stations such as a garden, nursery and laundry area and interactive technology to engage residents.
Additional design elements — including color-coded hallways and specialized dining tools — are intended to help residents navigate their surroundings and stimulate appetite and emotional well-being.
Stansloski said the project emphasizes attention to small details that can make a meaningful difference in daily life for both residents and caregivers, reinforcing the organization’s focus on compassionate, personalized care.
