NILES, Ohio – If your holiday wish list ever included a Boyds teddy bear or a Michael Jordan collector’s card, Shop of Treasures will be full of nostalgia.

Karen and Jim Caruso, co-owners of the shop, have brought their own love of collecting to Eastwood Mall.

“I’ve been collecting dolls and bears my whole life,” Karen Caruso said. “We just have a joy for collecting and love people, so I want to share that joy of collecting things with other people and bring back some nostalgia.”

A stroll through the store reveals football, baseball and basketball cards and other items; collectors dolls; classic Steiff and Boyds bears; as well as My Little Ponies, Littlest Pet Shoppe, vintage Hot Wheels, seasonal nutcrackers, polished gemstones, hand crocheted hats and hand-sewn doll blankets.

Sports cards and collectibles are among the treasures that can be found at Shop of Treasures in Eastwood Mall.

The store is dedicated to bringing back memories of items collected and a place to make new memories. Karen said she loves when someone spots an item they used to love when they were a child.

Jim Caruso said he began collecting sports cards when he was about 10 years old. His inventory at the store is composed of many items he collected through the years, as well as items people brought into the couple’s previous location at the Hartville Market Place to sell or trade.

The Carusos on Friday cut the ribbon on their new location, near Dave and Busters, the Eastwood Event Centre and Hubbard Music. The new location offers more space than their previous 300-square-foot location.

Collector dolls and bears are among the many items at Shop of Treasures.

Now that they have more space, Jim said he can see them possibly expanding into comics, gaming items and vinyl records.

The couple, along with their children, Carina and Jimmy Caruso, who also contribute their talents, have created a true family business.

Located near Dave and Busters, the Eastwood Event Centre and Hubbard Music, Shop of Treasures is the latest store to join the offerings at Eastwood Mall, just prior to the holidays.
