Smarts Names Labra Artist in Residence
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Smarts — the acronym for Students Motivated by the Arts — recently welcomed Elena Labra, a Smarts former student, as its newest artist in residence.
Labra is a 2019 graduate of Youngstown State University where she studied psychology and fine arts with a focus on the ceramic medium. Her passion for crafting handmade pottery grew into the creation of her business, Staircase Ceramics.
Labra’s work can be found at Common Goods Studio at 2000 Canfield Road. She travels to sell her pieces at maker markets in Youngstown, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati.
