WARREN, Ohio – The Trumbull County Suicide Prevention Coalition is encouraging residents to support Mental Health Awareness Month by participating in a social media challenge throughout May.
In partnership with local coffee shops, the coalition invites community members to visit a participating shop, take a selfie with their drink, and post it on Facebook. Participants must follow the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Trumbull County, tag the coalition and the coffee shop, and use the hashtag #GoGreenforMentalHealth. Those who follow the steps will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift card to the shop where the photo was taken.
A separate contest is open to first responder departments. The winning department will receive coffee and pastries in recognition of their service and support of mental health initiatives.
Participating coffee shops include The Fowler General Store and Bakery in Cortland; The Daily Grind in Girard; KTs Coffee Talk in Hubbard; Cadence Coffeehouse & Creperie and Mudslingers of Niles in Niles; Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop in Vienna; Howland Bean, Market House Caffe, and The Mocha House in Warren; and Pick Me Up Coffee Co, a mobile coffee trailer.
