WARREN, Ohio – ​​Someplace Safe, Trumbull County’s only shelter and resource center for victims of domestic violence, will host its annual signature fundraiser March 1. 

The event will be held at the Eastwood Event Centre, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Doors will open at 5 p.m., dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the event will run until 9 p.m. 

All proceeds will directly support victims and their families in taking steps to become survivors of domestic violence. 

The Dinner & Desserts event consists of a buffet meal provided by the Eastwood Event Centre and desserts provided by 10 local vendors specializing in treats. This year’s vendor list includes A Baker’s Bakery, Candy Kiss Treats, Cookies to Go, Mary Ann’s Fine Foods, Noble Bakes, Doughlicious Bakery, Queen of Cheesecakes, The Cake Boutique, Sunrise Inn of Warren and Fresh to Fire Wood-Fired Pizza. 

All local vendors will provide samples and have baked goods available for purchase throughout the evening. The first hour of the event will provide time for attendees to grab sweets and to check out the basket raffle, wine pull and 50/50 raffle. 

The evening will also include information about the value of community support.  

“This year’s event theme is Sweet Dreams,” said Lauren W. Webb, director of domestic violence services. “Everyone deserves a safe place to rest your head. We will highlight how to help.”

Dinner & Desserts is the annual signature fundraiser held by Someplace Safe and the Someplace Safe Advisory Council to directly support the mission to end domestic violence in Trumbull County, provide services to victims and their families and support the safety and wellness of survivors.
