SALEM, Ohio – Salem Regional Medical Center expanded in 2024 by opening its Surgery and Outpatient Pavilion in Columbiana and a health care complex in Canfield.
“Salem Regional Medical Center has the advantage of being a private, independent, not-for-profit hospital,” says Anita Hackstedde, president and CEO. “This means that the important decisions about our patients’ care and our goals for growth and improved access are made independently and locally by our board, administration and our medical staff.”
The Surgery & Outpatient Pavilion in Firestone Farms TownCenter opened last spring. It consists of four entities: ARC Medical Imaging–Columbiana, Firestone Infusion Center, SRMC Medical Group physician offices and Firestone Surgery Center.
The hospital’s presence in Canfield expanded last year with the opening of a new building at 5002 Millennial Lane, at the corner of U.S. Route 224 and Palmyra Road. The complex has two entities: SRMC Primary Care-Canfield and ARC Medical Imaging-Canfield.
SRMC’s world-class cancer program earned national recognition in 2024, according to Krisann Lewis, hospital spokewoman. The Commission on Cancer bestowed its accreditation on SRMC for excellence in the diagnosis, treatment and support of cancer patients and their families.
The American College of Surgeons recognized SRMC for excellence in improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients.
And the American Cancer Society and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence accredited its breast care center.
