NORTH JACKSON, Ohio – Salem Regional Medical Center has added walk-in, urgent care services at its health clinic at 10850 Mahoning Ave.

SRMC Urgent Care – North Jackson offers walk-in medical care for minor illnesses and injuries that do not require an emergency department visit, with no appointment needed. The clinic also houses SRMC Occupational Health.

“We’re excited to expand access to urgent health care for residents of the greater North Jackson area and provide them with an option for immediate treatment near the places they live and work,” said Dr. Anita Hackstedde, president and CEO of Salem Regional Medical Center. “SRMC Urgent Care – North Jackson is a lower-cost alternative to the emergency room for those who need timely care for nonlife-threatening medical problems but can’t wait for an appointment with their regular doctors.”

Walk-in hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Most health insurance plans are accepted, as well as self-pay options.

“Patients can walk in with no appointment and receive treatment for a wide range of conditions, including lacerations, sprains and strains; upper respiratory infections [cough, cold and flu symptoms]; sinus and ear infections; asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia; urinary tract infections; and allergic reactions, poison ivy and other rashes,” said Dr. Supreet Dhaliwal, medical director. “We also treat skin/wound infections and insect bites and stings.”

Dhaliwal said no emergency services are available at the clinic, so people experiencing severe or potentially life-threatening conditions should call 911 or visit the nearest emergency department.

Residents are invited to attend an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 14 to meet Dhaliwal and the staff at SRMC Urgent Care – North Jackson. Tours of the new urgent care service, giveaways and light refreshments will be available.

In addition to SRMC Urgent Care, Salem Regional Medical Center began providing occupational health services at its North Jackson facility in June under the direction of Dhaliwal.
