Stambaugh Youth Concert Band Kicks Off Season

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Stambaugh Youth Concert Band begins its 2018-19 concert series with its Fall concert on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The concert pays homage to Leonard Bernstein with performances of Slava, music from West Side Story, Russian Christmas Music and more.

The band is comprised of the top high school musicians from northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, and is under the direction of Dr. Brandt Payne and Tyler Husosky with the support of Dr. John Veneskey.

The spring concert will feature senior soloists chosen through an audition process, as well as the presentation of the Barbara Armstrong Memorial Youth Band Scholarship to a senior.

General admission tickets for the fall concert range from $2 to $6 and are available through the Florence and Ward Beecher Box Office at Stambaugh Auditorium, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Purchase tickets by calling 330 747 5175 or by visiting StambaughAuditorium.com.
