WELLSVILLE, Ohio – Pier 48, located along the Ohio River in Wellsville, plays a crucial role in supporting regional trade and logistics. The terminal handles a diverse range of commodities, including steel, soybeans, barite and more, which are vital to Ohio’s economy.

“Barging is actually the greenest, safest and most cost-efficient way to move material per ton-mile,” says John Frankovich, president of Port of Ohio at Pier 48. “The Ohio River and the entire inland river system is very important to the United States.”
